Yamaha will be launching the Ray scooter in the next three months. The company continues to test the vehicle extensively and the above spy shot was sent in by Pankay Biswas, who spotted the Ray on test in Guwahati. The Yamaha Ray scooter is expected to be powered by a 125cc petrol engine, which would produce around 9 BHP of power and 8.5 Nm of torque. Yamaha is yet to reveal mechanical details about the Ray scooter and one can expect the company to offer high fuel efficiency to woo under 24-year old female riders to the Yamaha family. The Ray scooter will be manufactured at Yamaha’s Surajur facility in Uttar Pradesh. It will be heavily localized to ensure the price doesn’t exceed Rs. 50,000/- (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
